The team consisted of Daniel Coyle with Legacy, Conor Swail with Calciet EB Z, Denis Lynch with Brooklyn Heights, and Bertram with
PACINO AMIRO. The team was imperious in securing the Nations Cup win, with Bertram remaining calm under pressure to deliver a superb double clear, ultimately securing the victory.
Bertram, the anchor man for Michael Blake's team, knew exactly what was needed as he entered the arena as the final combination in round 2. A clear round within the time of 78 seconds would add to Ireland's tally of Cup wins for the season. Bertram stayed calm under pressure, confidently guiding Pacino Amiro through a challenging course, jumping a perfect round with 0.18 seconds to spare, resulting in Ireland finishing with a winning score of five points.
Germany secured the runner-up position with 10 points, while hosts Canada took third place with 16 points.
World number 14 Swail was eliminated in round one after dismounting from his mount, Calciet EB Z, following the water jump. This left Ireland with no second-round discard score. However, it mattered little – Coyle, who had jumped clear on Legacy in the first round but picked up a single time penalty, delivered a flawless performance in the second round. Lynch added just four faults to his first-round clear on Brooklyn Heights, setting the stage for Allen to clinch the victory.
