Guinness has been a true star at Ballywalter Stables since he arrived in 2016, making numerous top placings with both Bertram and Harry in the saddle. Bertram brought him up successfully as a youngster, collecting several top placings. In 2019 the young stallion partnered with Harry, making multiple appearances at the higher level.

This summer, the duo was part of the Irish showjumping team taking silver at the FEI Young Rider European Championships, where Harry finished 15th individually. The pair jumped a brilliant double clear at the Nations Cup in Drammen, contributing to victory in the 11-team contest. In October, the two made a brilliant 5* Grand Prix debut in Oslo, scoring an impressive runner-up finish at their first-ever five-star 1m60 Grand Prix, followed by a formidable performance in the opening round of the FEI World Cup. Guinness added another top result when he finished second in the four-star Grand Prix at St Lo in France.

"Guinness has been my best horse so far, taking me up to the top level. He has constantly given his best, for which I will always be thankful. He truly has everything anyone could wish for in a horse. I will miss competing with him, and it will be emotional seeing him go. Still, I am delighted to see him continue his career with a top international and hardworking rider like Gudrun Patteet. I wish Gudrun all the best for the future," Harry says.

"After the first jump, I knew this stallion was special. I wish Gudrun every success with this very talented horse," Bertram says.
