Bertam finishes 2nd in the 1.45m Ranking Class in CSI2* Lier

Bertram & Emmylou finished 2nd in Friday's 1.45m Ranking Class in CSI2* Lier, Belgium. Bertram stopped the clock in 32.17 seconds, a slim margin to Mexican winner Eugenio Garza Perez & Chalouries PS, who finished in 31.84 seconds. Belgium rider Sacha Beghuin finished third.

Once again the Florida venue proved to be a happy hunting ground for Bertram. Riding the 9-year-old bay gelding Edison De Hus, Bertram was one of the last riders into the ring in the 1.45m ranking in the CSI5* show at Wellington International.

Harry & Calculatus finish 4th in 4* Grand Prix in Spain

Harry and Calculatus set an uncatchable pace over the 4* 1m55 Grand Prix course on Sunday at the Andalucian Sunshine Tour in Spain to finish 4th in a field of 50 riders and nine in the jump-off. Harry had the fastest time in the jump-off with 38. 38 sec but one pole down, put them in 4th.


On the same day, Harry and Carrera Denfer won the 1m30 Medium Tour.

Bertram and Emmylou Storm to Victory in CSI3* Grand Prix

The Winter Equestrian Festival’s (WEF) Week 6 came to a close on Sunday with the CSI3* Grand Prix on the grass Derby Field at Equestrian Village. Bertram and the speedy Emmylou topped a 10-horse jump-off in the day’s featured international class.

Bertram & Buddy win thursday's 5* 1m55 class at WEF

The energy was high in the International Ring at Wellington International on Thursday morning as a slew of the top riders in the world suited up to contest the precursor event to Saturday evening’s CSI5* grand prix during ‘Saturday Night Lights’.


BALLYWALTER STABLES is excited to have purchased the exciting Selle Français licensed jumping stallion HURICANE DE CHAMPLOUE. A son of the legendary Cornet Obolensky, with an equally fantastic dam line in the excellent breeding stallion Diamant de Semilly. HURICANE DE CHAMPLOUE's grandmother is also the mother of the legendary showjumping gelding Itot du Chateau.

Bertram & Emmylou win the Wellington Equestrian Realty CSI4* 1.45m

Course designer Peter Grant’s (CAN) set a one-round speed track that welcomed 50 pairs to test their quickness. The one that couldn’t be caught, however, was Bertram and Emmylou (Billy Mexico x Lupin Z), clocking in at 61.85 seconds. Second-place finisher Jessica Springsteen was just two seconds off the pace in 63.36 seconds, while Vanessa Hood rounded out the podium in 63.51 seconds.

Bertram & Edison De Hus 5th in yesterday's Grand Prix at WEF

Only six riders advanced to the jump-off in yesterday's Palm Beach Equine clinic Grand Prix in Wellington, with Bertram and 8-year-old Edison De Hus posting a speedy jump-off securing the second-best time. One unlucky pole put the duo in an impressive 5th place. Kent Farrington took the win, Ben Maher came runner-up, and Jos Verloy finished third.

Bertram & Caprisco topping the podium at WEF

A good start at WEF for Bertram. Just a few days after his arrival in Florida, he takes on winning the 1m40 class riding  Caprisco. The 8 year old gelding  Edison De Hus had a super double clear on Wednesday, finishing 6th. All horses feel great after the long travel to Wellington.

Pacino Amiro ranked the second-best-earning showjumping horse in 2022

According to EQUNEWS and the new showjumping app 'Jumpr' (which analyzes the results of international riders and horses), Pacino Amiro is ranked the second-best-earning showjumping horse in 2022, collecting 959.237 euros. Daniel Deusser's Killer Queen takes the number one spot, earning her rider 1.063.187 euros.

Bertram fourth in the World Cup leg of Riyadh

Bertram continued his success from Thursday's runner-up finish in Riyadh by taking fourth place in Friday's CSI4* World Cup with Pacino Amiro. David Will speeded to victory on Zaccorado Blue, and Mike Kawai came in second on Saxo de La Cour.  Bertram will attend the CSI5* show in Riyadh this week.

Wellington win for Harry

Harry has settled in well in Wellington at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Florida. Last week he climbed to the top of the podium in the $10.000 1m40 Open Junior Stake riding Carrera Denfer, as well as being placed in both the 1m45 and 1m50 LR class with Calculatus. The talented youngster Karlsson was ranked 3rd in the $5.000 1m35 class.

The 8-year-olds did well in Peelbergen last weekend. Jelvinia was a star, winning the 1m40 class, while Caprisco came 2nd in the 1m45 jump-off class. Next stop Prague for the GCL Super Cup


Bertram partnered Ballywalter's 10-year-old mare Emmylou to victory in Saturday's two-star Grand Prix at Peelbergen in The Netherlands. A clear jump-off round in 38.09 saw them finish nearly a second ahead of Belgian runner-up Evelyne Putters with Eye of the Tiger.

Bertram and the 8-year-old gelding Empoli de Champloue scored a runner-up finish in Friday's Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation Trophy 1.55m jump-off class at the GCT fixture in Riyadh .
Victory went to Germany's Christian Ahlmann and Solid Gold Z. On the show's first day, the duo finished 4th in the 1m45.

Bertram and Pacino Amiro had a great day on Thursday, finishing 5th in the 1m55.

Bertram Allen closed his brilliant GCT Stockholm weekend yesterday with a win on Pacino Amiro (owned by Aiden McGrory) in a lightning-fast 1.55m jump-off class.
With the Olympic Stadium packed to the rafters. Bertram defeated Daniel Deusser on Jasmien vd Bisschop to take the win by just 0.04 seconds. Local hero Peder Fredricson finished the podium to take bronze on Catch Me Not S.

Dancing Queen looked to be in phenomenal form yesterday, cruising around the arena to take runner-up spot in the 2* Grand Prix in Bonheiden, Belgium. Bertram made history at the 2022 Winter Equestrian Festival in Florida this morning (Sunday), when he scored back-to-back Grand Prix victories on the same two weeks he had also won in 2021. A two-time winner of WEF three-star Grand Prix in 2021 and 2022, Bertram again rose to the top in the five-star $406,000 Lugano Diamonds Grand Prix with Pacino Amiro (ISH), the same mount he rode to victory in 2021.

Carlo finishes 3rd in the $75,000 CaptiveOne Advisors at WEF

Bertram Allen and Carlo 454 (Conthargos / Balou Du Rouet) had a great start to the 2022 WEF circuit, finishing third in Sunday's $75,000 CaptiveOne Advisors 1.50m Classic CSI4* at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Florida. Jordan Coyle took the winning prize.

Bertram will be competing in Wellington in February and March before returning to Europe later this spring.

Harmonie L sold to Sam Berry (US)

We want to congratulate Sam Berry (US) and Finally Home Farm, on the purchase of the 10-year-old Harmonie L ( Dutch Design / Balou L). We are looking forward to following their journey on the other side of the Atlantic. Harry and Bertram brought up the 10-year-old mare since she was seven, with several accomplishes up to 4* level. Wishing Sam the best of luck with this super mare!

Classified sold to Stransky's Mission Farm

The nine-year-old talent Classified (Je T'aime Flamenco/Libertino), who recently made a great impression in Geneva, winning the 5* 1m50 Prix des Communes Genevoises, has been sold to Stransky's Mission Farm in Wellington to be ridden by the Spanish rider Gonzalo Busca Roca.

Lafayette Van Overis makes it a double win in CSI5* Tryon

The 8-year-old gelding Lafayette Van Overis (Kashmir van Schuttershof / Tauber An het Kapelhof), which Bertram took over the mount in July this year, was on top of his game in Tryon last weekend, with winning both the $36,000 1m45 Speed Class on Friday and the $72,000 1m50 Sunday Classic.

Following a hugely successful career, Ballywalter Farms announces the retirement of the brilliant mare Molly Malone, at the age of 15.


With Harry competing in Oliva Nova, Spain and Bertram at Sentower Park, Belgium, the Ballywalter horses have been collecting some ribbons during the last week.

Bertram and Ballywalter's GK Casper pulled off a mind-blowing feat of speed in Saturday's 1.55m competition at AL SHAQAB’s in Doha after a thrilling jump-off. A scorching clear round in 33.75 seconds saw Bertram take the top prize of €36,450, outpacing a top-class field. Harry & Dis Moi Tout de Clairbois win the 1m45 in Spain

30 horse and rider combinations came to start in the big class (Gold 1m45 Trofeo Absolute Horses) on Thursday at the CSI2* Mediterranean Equestrian Tour in Spain, but none of them managed to beat Harry and the 10yo gelding Dis Moi Tout de Clairbois owned by Ballywalter Farms, who recorded the amazing winning time of 62.35 sec. Justine Resnik ( US) and Carismo Z finished second.

Guinness wins the Young Horse Final in Stockholm

Guinness continues his excellent form with winning the Young Horse Final at the CSI4* show in Stockholm after securing a brilliant runner-up finish the day before. Just one month ago Guinness finished third in the 1m35 Young Horses Final at the CSI3* show in Zwolle.

Hector van d'Abdijhoeve was in phenomenal form this weekend at the five-star show in Rome.

Guinness wins the 1m40 youngster class in Lier

It has been a good weekend in Lier, Belgium for Bertram and the two Ballywalter Farms stallions; Guinness and Hector Van d'Abdijhoeve. On Saturday Guinness took a brilliant win in the 7yo speed class, after being placed 11th with a double clear the day before. The 11yo stallion Hector Van d'Abdijhoeve was also clear through the whole weekend, and was placed twice in the 1m40 classes.

Bertram and Hector van d'Abdijhoeve finished third in the 1m55 jump-off class yesterday at the Global Champions Tour show in London. The talented Ballywalter Farms Stallion jumped a perfect double clear in 42.87, just ahead of Denis Lynch and The Sinner in fourth (43.62). Victory went to Harrie Smolders (NED) with Zinius in a time of 41.96.

Hector with runner-up finish in Rome’s €350,000 Rolex Grand Prix

Yesterday, Bertram recorded one of his best results of the season, taking the runner-up spot in the five-star Rolex Grand Prix at his first visit to the CSIO5* Piazza Di Siena, Rome.

Dino W sold to Moroccan show jumping rider, Abdelkebir Ouaddar.

The Moroccan show jumping rider, Abdelkebir Ouaddar, will be the new rider of Dino W. The ten year old stallion has been with Bertram since he was a 5-year-old, with placings at 5-star level. Dino will still be available for breeding through Ballywalter Farms for the 2018 season.

Cascari (Cassini / Carpaccio), by the powerful Cassini I, is one of the most successful Holstein stallions ever, competing 1m60 with Franke Sloothaak. Cassini has left over 40 licensed stallions, including Cumano, Berlin (Dino W), Cabrio van de Heffinck (Hector van D'abdijhoeve), Chicago and Quite Cassini to name but a few.


The legend Romanov is now approved in SWB (The Swedish warmblood association) on a-STO license. Romanov is considered one of the world's absolute best horses and has written history with its outstanding record. Romanov is now approved by KWPN, SF, SHB(GB), ISH, AES and SWB.

With a fifth and seventh place in a starting line-up of 19 combinations, the young stallion showed himself as a promising horse for the future.
